First off, we need to download Optifine. Doing this is super easy. Just click the Optifine download link above. This will take you off where you can click the green download button to go to the official Optifine download page. Here you can download Optifine for your Mac by clicking on the 'mirror' button next to the version you want. Optifine 1.13 for example, if you are downloading Optifine for Minecraft 1.13. Always download the version closest to the top.
Next, we need to install Optifine. Doing this is super simple. Just double click on the .jar file you downloaded in your downloads folder. This will then say you can't open the file because it is from an untrusted developer. If that's the case, go to system preferences and find the 'Security & Privacy' tab. At the bottom of this tab, you will see a button that allows you to open Optifine anyway. Click that and Optifine will open.
Now, all you need to do is click the 'Install' button on the Optifine for Mac installer, and you are done. Just open up Minecraft, select the Optifine profile, and Minecraft 1.13 will open up on your mac with Optifine installed. Congrats!
